Rudolf Nureyev: Dance to Freedom
Dance, espionage and passion come together in this docudrama telling how Soviet ballet dancer Rudolf Nureyev defected to the West at Paris's Le Bourget airport on 16 June 1961. It recreates the four months that led to the defection in a mix of testimony, tense dramatisation and spectacular dance performance, with Bolshoi Ballet star Artem Ovcharenko as Nureyev.
Nominated for a BAFTA Award for Specialist Factual 2016 and an RTS Scotland Award for Best Arts Programming 2016.
